HELEN PYBUS

OWNER

Helen Pybus photo.jpg

Hi, I’m Helen and I’ve recently taken over the business.

You may know that I was involved for a couple of years before this. Initially as a client, then a volunteer, before deciding to go all-in.

So, why did I do this?

Firstly, I am passionate about dogs (as I’m sure many of you are too). I’m an experienced dog owner having had border collies for much of my adult life.

I’m focused on making things as interesting and fun for the dogs. I helped create the Zen Pen and started regular pool parties so far with this in mind.

Secondly, it’s not actually all about the dogs! I’m sure we all appreciate that having a dog can be a big responsibility and we cannot always do everything ourselves. Knowing that we have reliable support around us can be a big help!

I am committed to providing you with a great service so that you feel confident and happy that your dogs are spending time with us.

Thirdly, having fun is important.  Life isn’t always a barrel of laughs (don’t we know it)…so whether it’s about the dogs, the staff or you guys, let’s try and make things as enjoyable and fun as we can along the way. Life is too short not to!

And finally, although I’m new to the dog world on a professional basis, I bring a lot of business and life skills with me to add to the mix. I pride myself on being pretty pragmatic too.

Helen’s skills and experience remain an invaluable addition to the Simply K9 team.

LORRAINE

DOG CARE TECHNICIAN

Hi I'm Lorraine. I am pleased to be one of the day care team & love looking after all the doggy visitors. I have shared most of my life with dogs, from a family dog as a child at home to my own four legged family for all of my adult life. For over 10 years I worked in dog rescue which I loved. This was an emotional, challenging  but very rewarding job & to be able to help a dog which has had a tough time move onto a new & happy life is just the best thing ever!

I have a city & guilds level 2 diploma in work based animal care & have attended Emergency Canine First Aid courses. I am so lucky that I get to share my days with so many dogs, at home & at Simply K9 Day care - dogs really do enrich your life.

DANA

DOG CARE TECHNICIAN

I love animals and most especially, I love dogs, whether they are little, medium or large.

As soon as I turned 16 years old (a few years ago) I volunteered at the South Cave Animal Welfare Centre looking after Guinea Pigs and Rabbits (which I still do).

When Helen presented me with the opportunity to work at Simply K9 Ltd  a couple of years ago, I jumped at the chance to work with Helen and her team. I have since been on the ‘Tellington T-Touch’ course and also gained some valuable experience in ‘Hydrotherapy’ for dogs. In the future I hope to enhance my skills and experience with further training and personal development.

I have also started enjoying going to clicker training, My pet dog Meg really enjoys this method of training and it challenges me to think outside the box!

I am a real dog lover whether they are big, medium or small, cross or full breed.

I have a gift with dogs and always willing to learn new things regarding pooches and can really bond with them. I volunteered my time in a busy day school for 2 years and often helped out in the rescue side where I fed, walked and got the ex street dogs used to people and help showing them that we are not bad people.

I enjoy being out walking and taking photographs of nature and animals.

I have been an animal lover all my life but I’m particularly fond of dogs! I have 2 border collies who I love to take for long walks and teach tricks.

I’m currently undertaking a foundation degree in canine behaviour and training which I have found really interesting so far as it teaches you the science behind the canine mind and how to apply it in the real world.

I hope to one day be a dog trainer, possibly for disability dogs as I would find it incredibly rewarding.
